The following terms apply to horocalc.com (the "Site"). Acceptance is implied by use, so if they are not acceptable to you, please stop using the Site.

HoroCalc is a zodiac sign calculator: it finds your Western sun sign from your birth date and your Chinese zodiac animal from your birth year. In practice, it maps the birth date against the Western zodiac date ranges, which shift by a day or two at the cusp on some years, and derives the Chinese animal from the lunar year cycle rather than the calendar year alone. This page should be read with that tool in mind, because the limits described apply to what it computes.

In day-to-day use the tool works only from the birth date you enter, and it is usually opened for things like finding a sun sign for a cusp birthday. None of that reaches us, so none of it can be stored.

What this Site does

The Site provides a zodiac sign calculator and explanatory material, free of charge, for general information and education. Results are estimates derived from the inputs you supply using the method described on the page. These results are for general information and convenience; where a decision carries weight, check them separately.

No advice relationship

Using this Site does not establish a professional relationship with us, and no result should be treated as professional advice. The judgement about how to use it is yours.

Acceptable use

Personal and professional use is fine. What is not: disrupting the Site, scraping it hard enough to slow it for others, passing it off as your own, or using it unlawfully.

Copyright and ownership

Unless credited otherwise, the Site's design, writing and code are ours or used under licence. Linking to any page is welcome; copying large portions of the content needs our written consent.

Advertising and third-party links

The Site is supported by advertising and may link to external resources. We do not control third-party content and are not responsible for it. Advertising never influences a result.

Changes and downtime

We make no guarantee the Site will always be available. Any tool or page may be changed or removed at any time, and the service is supplied "as is".

Limits on our liability

As far as legally permitted, our liability is excluded for indirect or consequential damages and for any decision taken on the strength of a result produced here.

The law that governs these terms

These terms are subject to the laws of the Site operator's jurisdiction, and conflict-of-law provisions do not override that.

When accuracy matters

These tools give a quick general answer. For anything with consequences, verify the result independently before you rely on it.

Accuracy of results

Correctness is a goal, not a warranty: results may contain errors and the content may lag changes in the field. Where the underlying method has a margin of error, read the output accordingly.
